12/13/2008 - Turin, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The agent of Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has angrily slammed reports linking his client with a big-money January transfer to Manchester City.
The 30-year-old was reported by the Daily Mail to be the Citizens' main transfer target for the January window, but Buffon's representative, Silvano Martina, says that such rumors are without foundation.
He told Goal.com: "A deal doesn't exist between Manchester City and Buffon, there is nothing at all.
"The paper who wrote the story are dishonest liars and they only hurt themselves. Manchester City have never contacted the player and whatever has been written is worse than rubbish.
"It's a disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves. I have never spoken to anyone and Juventus have never received an offer. Buffon is happy at Juve and he has a contract there.
"Even in Italy there have been plenty of reports but what can you do? Unfortunately we live in a world where this is no respect and no rules.
"The figures being written are absurd. Stupid people just write what they want, does that mean it is news? It's absurd to suggest these things."

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds
With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
Current betting odds Heisman trophy are:
